➡️ Throwback: After failing to qualify for the AFC Asian Cup™ since 2007, excitement was high in Indonesia when Team Garuda finally returned to the tournament in early 2024. However, their opening match against Iraq delivered an early setback. Despite a temporary equaliser from Marselino Ferdinan, Iraq came out on top in an action-packed encounter, winning 3-1 and eventually finishing first in the group. Indonesia also progressed as one of the best third-placed teams, but were eliminated in the Round of 16 with a 0-4 loss to Australia. Since then, the two sides have met twice more – both times in the second round of the AFC Asian Qualifiers™ Road to 26 – and Iraq proved too strong on both occasions once again. Will things be different this time?
