City’s EDS began our EFL Trophy campaign with a thrilling 5-1 triumph over League Two outfit Oldham on Tuesday evening.
After a calm but composed first half for City, our Elite Development Squad took a deserved three-goal lead into the break.

Mahamadou Sangare opened his City account with a cool finish before Justin Oboavwoduo’s hard work in midfield was rewarded with his second in two games. Ashton Muir then made it three with a first-time finish.

Luke Hannant converted from the penalty spot in the opening minutes of the second half and showed City would need to stay alert to secure all three points.

But Wilkinson’s side showed no sign of slowing down despite Oldham pulling a goal back. Sangare and Muir both secured their braces and confirmed City’s place at the top of Group E.
