Debutant Hugo Ekitiké opened the scoring early for Liverpool before Jean-Philippe Mateta levelled from the spot. Jeremie Frimpong restored the Reds’ lead, but Ismaïla Sarr struck late to send the match to a tense shootout.
With crucial saves from Dean Henderson and a composed winning penalty from Justin Devenny, Palace lifted the Shield and added another chapter to their growing Wembley story.
